Dearborn, MI (November 5, 2007)

John Clor’s fellow PCGCampbell workers and close friends are well aware of his passion and depth of knowledge of all things Ford Mustang. Now the rest of the world has the opportunity to tap into Clor’s vast wealth of information with the launch of The Mustang Dynasty, published by Chronicle Books.

The 160-page book takes a novel approach to the telling of the story of America’s most popular pony car while covering the Mustang’s development from the original 1964 model to the latest super Mustang, the 2007 Shelby GT500.

An avid Mustang enthusiast, Clor has amassed a large collection of Mustang books, over the years, by a host of well-known authors. But he noticed that there was one thing they all had in common.

“The more I read them and looked at them, the more I realized that they we’re all pretty much the same - this grill and this color - and didn’t tell the story that I wanted to know about, the real story. I took on the challenge of writing that story.”

As Communications Manager for the Ford Performance Group, Clor spends much of his time interacting with various Mustang clubs, attending their events, and developing relationships with many of the people who have played an integral part in keeping the Mustang alive all these years. It was through these relationships that Clor was able to unearth the story behind the story, providing the book’s unique perspective.

What also sets The Mustang Dynasty apart is the book’s exclusive presentation. Along with some 150 images, the book includes 15 removable Mustang artifacts and an audio CD of Mustang engine sounds.

“The pullouts help you connect with the Mustangs of the past,” Clor said. “I have the bumper sticker with the misspelling on it, a 2003 Mach 1 logo patch, and a reproduction of a 1965 Owner’s Manual, among others. Anyone can have an instant collection of Mustang memorabilia.”

With the release of The Mustang Dynasty, Clor can check “write and publish a book” off of his list of “John Clor’s Top 12 Things to Accomplish in My Lifetime.”

“That leaves, writing, producing and starring in my own local cable TV or Internet web radio/podcast program and completely restoring my 1978 V-8, 4-speed, T-top, Mustang II Cobra II,” said Clor.

Look for both, coming your way soon.
